MP encourages individuals to use the scheme

The Chancellor the Exchequer has announced that the Self-Employed Income Support Scheme will be extended. There will be a second and final grant in August, which will be a taxable grant worth 70% of the average monthly trading profit for three months, paid in a single instalment and capped at £6,570. The eligibility for this second grant will be the same as the first. Meanwhile, claims for the first grant must be made by 13th July.

John said,

“The Self-Employed Income Support Scheme has so far received claims from over 2.3 million people, and I encourage all those eligible for help from the scheme to apply for the first grant before the deadline of 13th July.”

“The Chancellor has made the right move in extending the scheme for a further grant. Further details about this will be announced later this month, and again I urge all eligible people to put in their claim.”
