MP supports Holocaust Educational Trust project
John Baron MP has written to secondary schools in the area encouraging them to participate in a visit to Auschwitz as part of a wider project to educate students about both the Holocaust and its contemporary lessons and, as Chairman of the Fun Walk Committee, offered to further subsidise the visit. The project is organised by the Holocaust Educational Trust [HET], and is already being subsidised by the Trust. The deadline for applications is Friday 17th December.
John said:
“These visits are a unique opportunity for students to better understand the horrors that took place in that dark chapter of history. Future generations must never again allow racism or discrimination to go unchallenged.”
“As with last year, the Fun Walk Committee will subsidise the visit so that cost is not a barrier for any student.”
