MP encourages constituents to take up voucher

The Government has recently launched the Green Homes Grant Scheme, which is now open for applications. £1.5 billion is available through vouchers, which will see the Government fund up to two-thirds of the cost of home improvements up to £5,000, with homeowners on low incomes eligible for a grant covering the full cost of works up to £10,000. The scheme is aimed at improving the energy efficiency of over 600,000 homes across England, cutting people’s energy bills by up to £600 a year whilst also supporting tens of thousands of jobs in green construction.

John said,

“I welcome the launch of this excellent scheme, which will give a Government contribution towards the costs of installing double glazing or underfloor, wall and roof insulation as well as low-carbon heating such as heat pumps. I would encourage constituents to make good use of the scheme, and local businesses to participate in it and benefit from the custom.”
