MP: Britain is at the forefront of addressing climate change

The Prime Minister has announced that Britain will ‘Build Back Greener’, and become the world leader in low-cost green energy, which will create 60,000 more jobs, slash carbon emissions and boost exports. In particular, in ten years’ time offshore wind will power every home in the country, raising our target for offshore wind from 30 to 40 gigawatts. Supporting ports and factories with an investment of £160 million to manufacture the next generation of turbines will create green jobs and accelerate progress to net zero emissions.

John said,

“I welcome these bold targets to boost employment and renewables, which will make a great contribution towards our net zero commitments. Britain is at the forefront of addressing climate change – we were the first major economy to set a net zero target and have reduced greenhouse gases by 28% since 2010 – and these initiatives are part of the Government’s overall £13 billion investment to continue cutting carbon emissions, create jobs and build back greener.”
