MP encourages everyone to get vaccinated
This morning it was announced that Britain has become the first country in the world to approve a coronavirus vaccine. This is the Pfizer/BioNtech vaccine, which offers up to 95% protection against covid-19, and the UK has already ordered 40 million doses of this jab, enough to vaccinate 20 million people. The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has judged the vaccine to be safe, and it will start being administered within days to those who need it most. People will be contacted by the NHS when it is their turn to have the jab.
John said,
“After many difficult months, this is unalloyed good news. The experts at the MHRA have certified this vaccine as safe, and it will very soon start to be given to those who need the most protection from covid-19 before being offered more widely. I would encourage everyone to get vaccinated.”
“This vaccine means that a route out of the pandemic is in sight, but until the vaccination programme is complete it is important we observe the rules, including masks and social distancing, as the virus itself has not become any less dangerous.”
