MP joins other colleagues in Parliamentary meeting

Today in Parliament John Baron MP joined other MPs in questioning Ford UK management as to the company’s responsibilities to those ex-employees who transferred their pensions from Ford to Visteon – and suffered as a result. The meeting was organised by Stephen Metcalfe, MP for South Basildon and East Thurrock. In attendance was Joe Greenwell [Chairman, Ford of Britain] and Christophe Clarke [Head of Government Affairs, Ford Motor Company]

John said:

“For me the key issues are whether the ex-Ford employees were told it was not legally possible for them to stay with the Ford pension fund, and the nature of the guarantees that were given should Visteon go bust. Ford is now going to come back to us about these key issues.”

“It is in everyone’s interest that there is full disclosure of the facts by all relevant parties – including Visteon, the pension Trustees and the union officials at the time. In my view, we should put litigation to one side and sit down and talk.”
