MP hails extra £3,838,050 for Essex County Council

As part of its £170 million Covid Winter Grant Scheme, councils across England are being given extra funding to support vulnerable families and prevent hunger. This builds on the £63 million already provided to councils this year to assist those struggling to buy food and essentials. Essex County Council is set to receive a total of £3,838,050.28 from the Government for food and supplies for vulnerable households.

John said,

“Throughout this pandemic the Government has made support available to help people through these difficult times. It has already invested more than £280 billion to protect jobs and to support businesses, as well as injecting an extra £7.4 billion to strengthen the welfare safety net.”

“I therefore welcome this additional £3,838,050 for Essex County Council to support vulnerable households and help ensure that no child should go hungry this winter.”
