MP: Government has done well to strike this deal

In welcoming the UK – EU Trade Agreement, John Baron MP has sent a list of questions into the Prime Minister before Parliament returns on Wednesday to vote on the deal. These questions refer to the extent of our ability to increase our fishing quota provisions after five and a half years, the effect the ‘level playing field’ may have on our ability to reduce taxation, access for financial services and the review process for the deal if in the future either the UK or EU feels that it is not working in their interests.

John said,

“The Prime Minister and our negotiating team should be congratulated on successfully reaching this trade agreement with the EU. Critics said that this could not be done, and once again the Prime Minister has proved them wrong.”

“I am inclined to support this deal when Parliament returns on Wednesday, but would appreciate clarification on certain issues and look forward to hearing from the Prime Minister soon.”
