MP thanks Essex Resilience Forum

This morning the Essex Resilience Forum, which comprises the NHS, emergency services and local authorities, declared that the ‘major incident’ in Essex was at an end. This had been declared on 29th December 2020 given the growing demand on hospitals and health and social care services in Essex, and allowed our county to seek further support from the Government to ease these pressures. The standing down of the ‘major incident’ indicates the health system across Essex is stable and under control.

John said,

“I welcome the good news that the health situation in Essex is now stable, and would like to thank the Essex Resilience Forum, and all who are working with it, for their efforts in recent weeks. Thanks are also due to Essex residents, who have kept to the lockdown restrictions and played their own part in driving down local infection rates.”

“However, local healthcare remains under pressure, and we must all continue to obey the lockdown rules until such time as they are lifted by the Government.”
