John Baron MP welcomes £3 billion National Bus Strategy

MP welcomes simpler fares and more reliable services

Bus passengers stand to benefit from a new National Bus Strategy, which will be backed by £3 billion of investment to deliver more frequent, reliable, easier to use and understand, better-coordinated and cheaper bus services. These include simpler single bus fares with daily price caps, more services in the evenings and at weekends, and all buses to accept contactless payments.

John said,

“Over half of all public transport journeys in the UK are taken by bus, and so I welcome today’s announcement of the £3 billion National Bus Strategy. This should pave the way for simpler fares, more reliable services and better connexions across the country, as well as delivering zero-emission buses.”
