MP: Funds will help us reopen safely and successfully

The Government is investing a total of £56 million through the Welcome Back Fund to help councils prepare for the end of lockdown. As part of this Basildon will receive £165,814 to help our high streets reopen and attract shoppers and tourists. This funding forms part of a wider package of measures to revitalise high streets and level up communities, including by making it easier for eateries to serve customers outdoors and set up market stalls.

John said,

“I welcome these additional funds to help support our local businesses and community as we emerge from the pandemic. The last year has been very difficult for our high streets, and this £164,814 from the Welcome Back Fund will help our community as we reopen safely and successfully later this summer when restrictions lift.”
