MP urges people to remain cautious

Today marks a further step along the Government’s roadmap out of the coronavirus pandemic. From today groups of six, or two households, can meet outside (including in private gardens) as long as they maintain social distancing. In addition, outdoor sports facilities can reopen, including swimming pools, golf courses and sports pitches and courts.

John said,

“It is good news that the lockdown is easing, in line with the Government’s coronavirus roadmap. After a period of strict lockdown it will be good to see friends and family again and restart outdoors sport, although I do urge everyone to remain cautious and remember to wash our hands, cover our faces, give others space and meet in the fresh air.”

“Meanwhile, it is an amazing achievement to have given over 30 million people at least one dose of the safe and effective vaccines – equivalent to 57% of the adult population across the UK. As ever, many congratulations to all those involved, both locally and nationally, with these efforts.”
