MP looks forward to sector reopening

Across the country the Government’s Culture Recovery Fund is using nearly £400 million to support more than 2,700 culture and heritage organisations and independent cinemas. This is part of the Government’s wider spending, amounting to almost £2 billion, to support the arts during the pandemic. In Basildon and Billericay, local organisations are set to receive £390,799 – please see ‘Notes to Editors’ below for further details.

John said,

“The pandemic has hit cultural and heritage organisations hard, and it is very welcome news that the Government is providing support for these much-valued organisations. I welcome the awards to organisations in the constituency, and look forward to the time when they and other organisations will be able to reopen properly as we work through the roadmap.”
