MP: Over 10 million people have received second dose
At the weekend the vaccination programme passed the 10-million mark for second doses. This means that over 10 million people, including the most vulnerable to covid-19, have received their full course of vaccines. Across the country nearly 33 million people have received at least their first dose – equivalent to three in five adults.
John said,
“This is a superb achievement, and our thanks once again go to the dedication and efforts of the NHS workers, volunteers, manufacturers and scientists who have made this all possible.”
“Second doses are crucial to ensure the maximum strength and longevity of protection from covid-19, and I urge everyone to come forward for their jabs, first and second, when the call comes. All the evidence shows the vaccines are very effective and very safe.”
