MP: Government has provided over £400 billion of support

One year on from the launch of the Government’s ‘Plan for Jobs’ initiative, figures show that 14.5 million jobs have been protected nationwide throughout the pandemic. The Government continues to support jobs as the economy recovers, giving everyone the best chance of recovering from this period of national crisis. The Plan for Jobs measures include the furlough scheme, the self-employed income support scheme, the Kickstart scheme and the suite of business support grants, loans and reliefs.

John said,

“Since the beginning of the pandemic the Government has gone the extra mile to help support businesses and jobs, and has put together a comprehensive package of support worth over £400 billion. This is one of the most generous levels of support worldwide, and it has protected 14.5 million jobs across the country. As we begin to exit the pandemic, thanks to our world-leading vaccination campaign, people can look to the future with confidence.”
