MP: Essex will receive nearly £3 million in funding

The Government’s £64 million ‘Changing Futures’ programme aims to change systems and improve services for people who experience multiple disadvantages, including a combination of three or more of homelessness, substance misuse, poor mental health, domestic abuse and/or contact with the criminal justice system.

Essex is one of 15 local areas to have been awarded funding to pilot this new programme, and has been allocated £2,846,500 to find new ways of working and delivering innovative services to this group of people. The programme will work with local areas for three years, enabling more vulnerable people in our communities to get the help they need.

John said,

“I welcome this funding which will help vulnerable people across Essex and across the other 14 areas of England also receiving awards. This Government is doing much to help support those in need, including redesigning local support services and coming up with innovative initiatives to better direct resources. I fully support such measures.”
