MP: Global Britain is forging new ties
The Government has announced that the UK has agreed a new partnership with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). This is the bloc’s first new partnership in 25 years, and becoming a Dialogue Partner will allow for closer cooperation between the UK and the region on a range of issues including trade, investment, climate change, science and technology and education.
John said,
“One of the chief benefits of leaving the European Union is that we have regained the ability to establish new relationships with leading economies across the world, including the signing of our own trade agreements. Forging new ties with fast-growing economies is just the sort of thing ‘Global Britain’ should be doing, and I congratulate the Government on this achievement.”
