MP: 6,500 homes and business to benefit across Essex
Across Essex, an estimated 6,500 homes and businesses are set to be upgraded to fast gigabit broadband as part of the Government’s £5 billion ‘Project Gigabit’ programme. As part of this initiative, millions of people in hard-to-reach areas across rural England will receive access to top-of-the range connexions to accelerate the economic recovery from the pandemic, support high-growth sectors and help families and local businesses access the speed and reliability from their internet connexion that they require.
John said,
“I welcome this initiative, as fast and reliable internet is rapidly becoming an essential service for domestic and business purposes alike. It is good news that the UK is on track for the fastest broadband roll-out in Europe, with 60% of all households having access to gigabit speeds by the end of this year. We are also on track to hit the Government’s target of gigabit coverage of at least 85% by 2025.”
