MP: Test should help improve survival rates
The NHS is launching the world’s first trial of a revolutionary new blood test for cancer detection. The Galleri test is intended to detect more than 50 types of cancer before symptoms appear, speeding up diagnosis and boosting the chances for successful treatment. John Baron MP was Chairman of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Cancer for nearly a decade.
John said,
“I welcome this exciting new development. Catching cancers early is the key to improving survival rates, as diagnosing the disease in its early stages generally leads to lighter and more successful treatment. A simple blood test would be a major step forward, and I await the outcome of the trial with great interest.”
