MP: an extra 11,053 Police Officers recruited nationwide
Recently released figures show that 235 Police officers have been recruited in Essex since September 2019, bringing the force’s full strength up to 3,551 officers. These efforts form part of the Conservatives’ election pledge to recruit 20,000 new Police officers across the country, of which 11,053 has so far been recruited. Four in ten new recruits are women, and over 11% of new recruits identify as belonging to a Black, Asian, Mixed or other ethnic minority group.
