MP: Armed Forces can be proud of service and achievements

Today 120 soldiers involved in Operation Pitting, the evacuation from Afghanistan, marched into Parliament’s New Palace Yard accompanied by the band of the RAF Regiment. The soldiers were greeted by the Prime Minister, Speaker and Lords Speaker, along with MPs, Peers and Parliamentary staff.

John said,

“It was a pleasure to welcome the soldiers to Parliament this afternoon. They, together with their counterparts in other branches of the Armed Forces and alongside civilians from the FCDO and MoD, did sterling work in testing circumstances. They can be very proud of their service and achievements in flying 15,000 people out of Kabul in the biggest British effort since the Berlin Airlift.”
