MP listened to how the pandemic has affected constituents and the DWP staff

John Baron MP recently visited the Department for Work & Pensions in the Basildon Centre at the invitation of the Essex Service Leader, Dave Cope, to discuss a variety of issues including how the pandemic, rise in energy prices and the cost-of-living increases are affecting people in his constituency and how the Basildon job centre is encouraging and assisting people back into work.

Basildon has thousands of jobs available and the Government has released the ‘WaytoWork’ campaign to assist people seeking employment.

John said,

“I very much enjoyed meeting Dave and seeing how his excellent team were helping many people back into work. The Basildon DWP team have many jobs available but would also welcome business support in helping more people into work and to upgrade their skills. I have offered my support in any way I can help.”

Dave Cope said,

“It was a real pleasure to host John Baron MP at Basildon Church Walk Jobcentre, and give him an opportunity to spend some time talking to the team and seeing the work we are doing to help Basildon residents get back into work and progress their careers. There are lots of jobs available, and we welcome the opportunity to work with partners and employers to help our customers get a job, a better job or a career”.
