MP thanks all donors – match funding possible
John Baron MP today disclosed that this year’s Fun Walk bonus pot, made up by donations from local businesses and individuals, has smashed previous records and now sits at over £36,000 – last year’s pot was worth £23,000. Each participating charity and good cause receives this bonus over and above what they raise themselves in sponsorship. The bonus is distributed on a pro rata basis depending on, and in addition to, the money each charity raises itself in sponsorship.
John said:
“My thanks go to Hallmark Healthcare, Veolia Environmental Services, Swan Housing, Toomey Motors, Bellway Homes, Selex Galileo, Stock Brook Manor, Messrs Ken Kent, Steve Foster, Barrie Stone and others. Their generosity means we hope to match fund all monies raised by the charities themselves.”
“Last year 60 charities and good causes benefitted from the £50,000 we raised. This year we are hoping to do much better.”
This year’s Walk will be held on Sunday, 22nd May again at Barleylands Farm
