John Baron MP officially opens new Buttsbury Pre-School building

MP congratulates all present on getting funding after the County Council ‘scare’

On Friday, John Baron MP officially opened the new Buttsbury Pre-School building in Billericay.  The pre-school was facing being one of the pre-schools in the area to have its funding clawed-back after Essex County Council threatened to take back the Capital Grant in 2010. But after John, Cllr Tony Hedley, Cllr Phil Turner and others intervened the Council made the funding available just before Christmas 2010.

 John said:

“Many congratulations to the school team and everyone here for fighting their corner to get the necessary funds so the new pre-school building could go ahead. The children and the whole community will now benefit from this excellent building. ”

“Our thanks also go to LAP Architects, Terry Gregson, the Project Manager, and R G Carter, the builders.  One of the conditions of the funding was that it had to be built in four months over the winter. This was done on time, on spec and within cost.”
