John Baron MP is presented with book at Sunnymede Junior School

MP congratulates Head Teacher on her retirement

Today, John Baron MP attended a special assembly at Sunnymede Junior School, Billericay. He was presented with a book entitled ‘Out of this World’ which is a series of stories put together by the children. The school did not employ a professional author.  Instead, a storyteller helped to inspire the children and each class wrote and illustrated a collaborative story. The book has been written with the support of the Royal Opera House/ Creative Partnerships.  Ford and Hallmark Healthcare have also sponsored the book so that they can send copies to local schools and libraries

John said:

“Well done to the school for this excellent initiative which has been very exciting for the kids. This has been a real team effort which has included the sponsors, teachers and those outside the school. The book is a cracking read.”

“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Mrs. Karen Cooke for her service to the school and local community over the last 11 years. She has done a great job and we all wish her the very best for the future.”
