MP, Councillor Frank Tomlin and Volunteers celebrate attendance of 1000th child

Today John Baron MP and Cllr. Frank Tomlin visited the Lee Chapel North Holiday Club at the Community Hall, Ballards Walk, Basildon.  The Holiday Club has provided dozens of free activities and workshops for local kids during the Easter, May and summer holidays.  It has proved hugely popular and has been run by John and Pamela McKay, together with their daughter Gemma and other volunteers.  The attached photos show John and Frank with Sarah Thomas (the 1000th Child), volunteers and Children

 John said:

“The Holiday Club has been a great success.  Our thanks go to John, Pamela, Gemma and the other volunteers who have provided this excellent free holiday entertainment.  It was great to be able to present an award to the 1000th child who has enjoyed the club.”

“The Holiday Club aims to continue its activities during future school holidays and I would encourage local residents to book as soon as they can for the October half term.  The number is 01268 419643.”
