MP visits Affletts Court and highlights trial service.

Today John Baron MP highlighted the need for local residents to use the new shopper bus service (SB81) during its trial period, during his visit to Affletts Court, Glebe Field, off Church Road, Basildon. The trial period starts on Tuesday next week (6th September) and will last 6 months. The service will run on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays leaving Affletts Court at 09.30am, arriving at Basildon Bus Station at 9.45am via the George Hurd Day Centre. The service will be run by Basildon District Volunteer Carers (BDVC) and paid for by Essex County Council.

 John said

“After being approached by local residents following the withdrawal of the previous service, I would like to thank Essex County Council and BDVC for responding to our calls and coming up with this solution. I urge local residents to ‘use it or lose it’ otherwise this shopper bus service will be withdrawn.”
