MP congratulates School on its hard work

John Baron MP has visited Mayflower High School, where a group of pupils from years 8, 9 and 10 and their Religious Studies teacher, Miss Bergin, gave a presentation based around the “Send My Sister to School” campaign. The campaign, which is jointly run by many charities including Christian Aid and Comic Relief, focuses on the need to increase the numbers of girls in education around the world. John has now sent the pupils’ work to the Prime Minister, and will forward the response.

John said:

Congratulations to the pupils and teachers at Mayflower School who have worked very hard on this project and produced some excellent work.

There are currently still 67 million children in the world today who are out of school, of which there are 3.6 million fewer girls in education then there are boys. This is an important campaign.
