MP congratulates nursery on its opening which had been threatened

Today John Baron MP visited Dizzy Ducks nursery, Mayflower School Billericay. John was shown round the nursery, which has only just opened, by Sian Nisbett, the director of Dizzy Ducks Day Nurseries. John participated in one or two of the classes and discussed progress with the team.

John said,

“Because of a potential funding glitch within Essex County Council, there was a moment when it looked as though this nursery would not be built. After raising the issue with the Council, I am pleased that they honoured their word and provided the promised funding. Persistence does pay off.”

“This nursery is doing a fantastic job for its 160 children, and I congratulate Sian and the whole team on its success. It’s great to see so many smiling faces.”

Sian added,

“This nursery offers much needed childcare to a huge number of families in this area. We understand the importance of excellent Early Years care and education for children. It has been statistically proven that children who access Ofsted-inspected ‘Outstanding’ nurseries achieve higher educational outcomes at the end of their first year at primary school.”

“We cannot thank Essex County Council enough for honouring their commitment to part-fund this project.”
