MP donates further £1,000 and seeks more corporate donations into bonus pot

John Baron, MP for Basildon and Billericay, has written to charities, schools, churches and other community groups across the area inviting them to join this year’s Fun walk. He has also invited business and private sponsors to donate monies into a bonus pot, which all participants will receive over and above what they raise themselves in sponsorship. The Fun Walk will be held on 18th July, once again at Barleylands Farm. Last year, 75 projects raised a total of £44,000 – up from £33,000 in 2008.

John said:

“Having donated over £10,000 to the Fun Walk and other local causes since being the MP, I am once again asking businesses to donate monies into a bonus pot, which all participants will receive over and above what they raise themselves in sponsorship . I will be giving a further £1,000 to this year’s Walk.”

“Although the Fun Walk goes from strength to strength each year, there is still plenty of capacity to help fund more good causes. So if you know of a project which would benefit, then please contact us.”
