MP supports new programme for young people.
John Baron MP, has welcomed plans to set up a new Traineeship programme for young people. This new programme, announced by Matthew Hancock MP, Skills Minister, will support young people aged 16-25 years giving them the support, confidence, skills and experience to compete in the labour market.
A record half a million people started an apprenticeship last year alone, an 80% increase from 2009-2001. The Government is working to invest into apprenticeships even further and providing cash bonuses for small companies taking on apprentices.
John said:
“During this time of economic uncertainty where many young people feel bewildered by the world of employment this programme has the potential to make a real difference. This Traineeship will make sure young people will have the skills they need to compete, to put themselves out there and to succeed.”
“In Basildon and Billericay 680 young people have already taken advantage of apprenticeship schemes. I would like to see this figure increase, and see young people of every constituency achieving their potential in the world of work.”
