MPs pledge support for Employer Engagement Event

John Baron MP and Stephen Metcalfe MP have met with Kristina Carrington, the Regional Campaign Director for the East Anglia Reserve Forces’ and Cadet’s Association to discuss the possibility of hosting an employer engagement event in the local area towards the end of the year. Both MPs will be lending their support to the event. The aim of the event is to promote the skills of defence personnel, cadets and Armed Forces Service leavers among the business community and to encourage employers to sign up to the Armed Forces Covenant.

John said:

“As an ex-soldier, I strongly believe that it is important to encourage closer co-operation between civvy street and the Armed Forces as both can benefit. I therefore look forward to supporting this event.”

Stephen said:

“We owe a huge debt to our armed forces and the least we can do is to recognise that when they leave the services. I therefore look forward to playing an active part in highlighting to potential employers what great skills former service personnel have.”
