MP talks to Students about his role as an MP
John Baron MP visited Quilters Junior School, Billericay at the invitation of Michael Wade, Headteacher, to talk to students about his role as an MP. John was asked to join the VIP lunch with the Headteacher and students before a question and answer session with pupils from years 5 and 6 class, who are interested in a career in politics.
John said:
“It was a very good lunch, both with good conversation and excellent fish fingers. I was impressed with the idea of rewarding good behavior in this way. The meeting afterwards had lots of interesting questions from children who were clearly well-motivated. Congratulations to all concerned, and to those who organised my visit.”
Michael Wade, Headteacher said:
“The children were really excited at the thought of sharing their VIP Dining Experience with a Member of Parliament. It was highly motivating! The children asked lots of questions about the reasons one should consider becoming a politician. John both inspired the children and reinforced the school’s key message that helping others and serving one’s community is something we should all care deeply about!”
