MP joins Headteacher, staff and Governors for the opening
John Baron MP has officially opened the newly built 6 classroom block at Mayflower High School, Billericay. Following a successful bid for Government funding, supported by John, to replace dilapidated temporary teaching accommodation, the new purpose-built block is now open and is housing the Modern Foreign Languages Department. The block consists of six classrooms to replace the forty year old demountables that were previously being used to provide four classrooms.
John said:
“Congratulations go to the whole team at Mayflower School for overseeing this excellent initiative, and to the Government for providing most of the funds. This new language block will build on the excellent facilities offered by the school generally, and will contribute further to its outstanding teaching capabilities. I look forward to continuing to support the school’s progress.”
Lee Brumby, Headteacher said:
“I am delighted to take the school one step further with the development of a further block of six classrooms to house the Modern Foreign Language Department. At Mayflower High School, we are always looking to offer the very best experience we can for our students, with both education and facilities.”
