MP hosts Q&A session
John Baron MP met with a group of students from Mayflower High School (Year 8 to Year 10) as part of their visit to Parliament recently. The group spent the day with Parliament’s Education service learning about how Parliament works and going on a tour of the Palace of Westminster. The trip culminated with a question and answers session with John. A photo of John and students is attached.

“It was an interesting session with many very good questions from the students, including questions about the role of an MP and how we can help people. My thanks to the students for such an interesting session, and to the Parliamentary Education Service and teachers for arranging the trip.”

“This was an extremely valuable experience for our students as they were able to understand the inner workings of Parliament and gain an insight into the work of an MP. They were able to see what they had learnt in the classroom in practice and ‘put a name to a face’ when it comes to their local MP. They asked a range of interesting questions from what the most challenging aspects of John’s job are, his working hours to his views on various topical issues. Our thanks go to the Houses of Parliament Education Centre for putting on another exciting and informative event and to John Baron MP for taking the time to meet our students”
