John Baron MP re-adopted as Conservative Candidate

MP supports Dominic Raab in leadership contest

Last weekend, John Baron MP was unanimously re-adopted by the Basildon and Billericay Conservative Association as the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate at the next General Election.

John said,

“It has been a great honour and privilege to serve as the local Conservative MP over the last 18 years, and I am grateful to have the continued support of our Association. I look forward to continuing to represent all constituents for as long as the voters of Basildon and Billericay wish me to be their representative at Westminster.”

“The next leader must renegotiate the Withdrawal Agreement with the EU and be prepared, should this be fruitless, to leave on no deal/WTO terms on 31st October – terms by which we already successfully trade with many countries outside the EU including the US, China and India. The referendum result must be respected.”

“The candidate who so far has impressed me most in this regard is Dominic Raab, who has shown principle and resolve over Brexit. I will accordingly be supporting him in the forthcoming process.”
