MP says up to 355 local businesses stand to benefit from reopening

The Government has announced that many tourism and visitor attractions can reopen from 4th July. This will be a welcome boost to many of the 355 businesses in Basildon & Billericay which are in the accommodation, food, arts, entertainment and recreation sectors. The Government has published guidance for these businesses to help tourist attractions and accommodation venues to reopen safely, such as by social distancing and cleaning protocols, available online at: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/working-safely-during-coronavirus-covid-19/the-visitor-economy.

John said,

“We have all made great efforts to reduce the spread of the coronavirus over recent months, and it is good news that the Government now feels able to allow parts of the economy to open up, as long as additional measures are taken to keep the environment safe. As tourism and visitor attractions reopen, I would encourage people to support their local businesses which are vital to our local economy and jobs.”
