MP says Government on track to recruit 20,000 extra officers by 2023
Today the Government has announced that nearly 6,000 extra officers have been recruited across England and Wales since the launch of its major police recruitment drive last year. In Essex this equates to a further 82 police officers bringing the County’s total number to 3,398.
John said,
“It is good that 6,000 extra police have been recruited in the last year and that the Government is on track to recruit 20,000 extra police by 2023. This remains a key Government priority and we thank Essex police for the good job they are doing.”
