MP: Great strides towards election manifesto pledge
According to new figures, applications to nursing courses have risen by a third β UCAS have almost 50,000 applications in England, a 34% increase, with more 25-34 year olds, 35s and overs, and men applying than last year.

βAt the General Election the Conservatives promised to recruit an extra 50,000 nurses, and these very positive figures today suggest we are making good strides towards this target. It is heartening that so many people rightly see nursing as a rewarding and accessible career path, and these new nurses will be the future of the NHS. I wish them well with their training.β
