MP: Government recognises NHS’ unique role in pandemic
The Government has announced that it is accepting in full the independent pay review bodies’ recommendations to give a 3% pay rise – a real-terms increase – to over one million NHS staff. This includes doctors, paramedics and porters. For the average nurse, this will be a pay rise of around £1,000.
John said,
“As someone who strongly supports the NHS and who recognises its staff’s unique role during the pandemic, I welcome this announcement. Despite the wider public sector pay freeze, the Government has decided to uphold the independent pay review bodies’ recommendations for NHS staff, as I always believed was most likely.”
