MP: A further step towards membership of CPTPP
After 16 months of negotiations, the British and New Zealand Governments have announced the signing of a free trade agreement. This will eliminate tariffs, cut red tape, increase co-operation on digital trade and climate change as well as offer more opportunities to live and work in New Zealand.
John said,
“I congratulate the British and New Zealand Governments on this important milestone. British workers will be able to enjoy improved business travel arrangements, and companies all across the UK will be able to benefit from the removal of trade barriers.”
“This deal follows on from successful advanced trade deals with Japan and Australia, and is a further step towards membership of the CPTPP, a trade area with a combined GDP of £8.4 trillion in 2020.”
