MP: Calm reflexion required
In this afternoon’s Opposition Day debate on standards, John Baron MP will again defy his party’s three-line whip by abstaining on both the Opposition’s motion and the Government’s amendment.
John said,
“Making decisions in haste, as we are now doing, invariably does not end well. MPs from all parties should wait to see the outcome of the report of the cross-party Committee on Standards which should be published by Christmas. We can then all work through the implications of any suggested changes carefully and soberly to ensure we retain a Parliament which works for our constituents whilst also benefitting from the added value that legitimate outside interests bring.”
