John meets Duncan Phillips, Managing Director
John Baron MP recently visited 360 Play at Basildon’s Festival Leisure Park at the invitation of Mr Duncan Phillips, Managing Director of DP Associates GB Ltd, who owns the centre and operates seven locations across middle England. John was given a tour of the facility followed by a discussion about how the pandemic has affected local businesses. The attached photograph shows John and Duncan sitting in a fire engine!
John said,
“It was a pleasure to meet Duncan and his team, and to see so many young children and parents enjoying their time at 360 Play. We discussed the importance of developing children’s social skills, as well as the challenges still facing businesses following the pandemic, about which I am raising issues with the Government.”
Duncan said,
“It’s so good to be able to show how important physical and connected play between parents and children is after such a long time resorting to digital entertainment. Our business, like many in the indoor leisure space, has been drastically impacted over the last two years and to have our local MP visit and see how important our business is as families come out of the impacts of the pandemic, is a great support”.
“When I started the business over 10 years ago it was from a parents view of the need to have hands on interactive play and learning between parent and children as well as other children. We find ourselves post the pandemic still relevant as many children have missed out on natural play environments through the lock downs.”
