This £16.9 million will help museums to conduct maintenance work to improve their building infrastructure for the benefit of visitors, staff and their collections. This funding round opened for applications yesterday, and bids for grants of between £50,000 and £5 million can be submitted. The deadline is 1st August 2022.
John said,
“Museums and galleries are superb showcases for our rich national heritage, and do much to instil local pride in our communities. I strongly encourage those responsible for museums and galleries in our area to submit funding applications to protect and widen access to our historic collections.”
