MP applauds pupils’ ‘Send my Sister to School’ campaign

John Baron MP has forwarded the Prime Minister’s response to Mayflower School’s ‘Send my Sister to School’ presentation, which focused on the need to increase the numbers of girls in education around the world.

John said:

“In his letter, the Prime Minister reaffirms his pledge to support at least nine million children in primary school, over half of whom will be girls, and two million children in secondary school by 2014, both in Britain and abroad. The letter addresses the serious questions that the pupils raised in their presentation.”

“When I visited the pupils on the 9th September, I was impressed with the excellent work they produced, and would urge them to continue pursuing this worthwhile cause.”
